Arezzo Christmas Markets: where to stay in the Casentino
From 14 November 2026 to 6 January 2027 Arezzo becomes the “City of Christmas”. Parc Hotel, a family-run three-star hotel in Poppi, is about 40 minutes away by car: the right place to enjoy the markets and then sleep in the peace of the Casentino valley, at the foot of the Castle of the Conti Guidi.
Arezzo City of Christmas 2026: what to see
- Tyrolean Village in Piazza Grande, 14 November to 27 December: craft stalls, Tyrolean food and beer.
- Big Lights: every evening from 5 to 9 pm, light, colour and music on the facades of Piazza Grande, free of charge.
- Santa’s House at the Medici Fortress, 15 November to 24 December, with games and workshops for children.
- Great Christmas Market in the Il Prato park, with a Ferris wheel and an ice rink.
- Wooden huts in Piazza San Jacopo and Piazza Risorgimento, and Christmas lights all over the old town.

Saturday: an afternoon in Arezzo among the markets and stalls, then the Big Lights in Piazza Grande after dark. Sunday: Poppi Castle, a short walk from the hotel, and a stroll in the forests of Camaldoli, about 20 minutes away. With more time, drive on to the Sanctuary of La Verna, about 40 minutes.
